UPDATE: 205,000 miles Valve body still makes a shake under 2,000rpm at light throttle (that’s torque converter lockout engagement lower limit I think) and it hasn’t gotten worse since this video was uploaded 20k miles ago

Being from Gothenburg I always had a sweet spot for Volvos, and in the early 2000's I worked for them in R&D. Brought me to LA once actually, but that's not why I wanted to post this comment. Years later I started working for Saab, and you, my dear Sir, are the spitting image of my manager there 😂

did you figure out that whistle sound? My 1.8 NA (97) does it as well. I am here because i hear it ping for the first time as it was hot today, i let off (i was only going 20mph) and it went away and didn't come back. is the whistle sound advanced timing?

that's gonna be a LOT of work to correct everything. A few parts are very hard to get. And the braking system is quite unusual on the E. You should do a valve conversion for leadless fuel.. Or you will need an additive all the time.. And no, that are not Recaro seats..

For loaders and cars, old and new, I even had experience with a double DeLlorto on an Alfa Romeo. Now in the Balkans I come across cars that I have never seen before. And the first time I encountered a “motorcycle” type of carburetor and I can’t adjust it to a leaner mixture. The fuel I see coming in looks like I pressed the toilet flush. :)
